Partnering with the Government of India in its call for “Swach Bharat”, DIYA has sped up its various movements directed towards ecological balance and cleanliness. Several activities taken by DIYA is with a noble intent to save, maintain ,improve, liven , empower lives.It spreads love, joy and smiles.

Nation vide cleanliness drives have been launched in villages as well as cities, to create a healthy and conducive environment. In order to propel the same, cleaning of housing societies, schools, colleges, public places like Railway Station, Bus Stands, Hospitals etc. been taken up aggressively and at a massive scale. It is not necessary to take huge steps but starting slowly and gradually by our nearest area of concern.

Accordingly, DIYA Mumbai, in collaboration with the students of Guru Nanak Institute of Management Studies (GNIMS) undertook the task of cleaning the Kurla Railway Station. A team of around  80 cleaned platforms but also the toilets, foot-over bridges, staff offices, water booths, ticket counters, every nook & corner of the station premises. Efforts were made by way of skits by students to create awareness about cleanliness. The herculean effort saw collection of garbage & waste to the tune of 40 to 50  waste bags.

Continued efforts like these, which are undertaken in association with young students are likely to have lasting impact not only in terms of cleanliness but also in identifying young hands who can be considered to be the future of the mission.

DIYA Mumbai in collaboration with GNIMS conducted a cleanliness drive at the Kurla Railway Station in sync with the “Swach Bharat Abhiyaan”. The team undertook massive cleaning of the entire station and changes its face within three hours ( Over 250 man hours as a team).It was untiring efforts by team Suchita Shetty alongwith her GNIMS team,  Akansha Agarwal , Snigdha Srivastava and her mother Smt KiranHitesh Joshi, Vijay Patle, Shardda Patle, Shri AN Verma, Pankaj Desmukh, Advocate Rishi Jha, Pavan Pandey. Nitesh Kumawat, Rahul Tripathi and the whole team of DIYA Mumbai.
