It’s just another day at any colleges across the city on 12th January, ‘The National Youth Day’ but different at K.B. College of Arts, Commerce for Women & K.B. College of Arts, Commerce & Science for Girls, Kopri, Thane (E). DIYA Mumbai chose to seed Swami Vivekanand’s thoughts on 12thJanuary’15.It was maiden program at this college of DIYA Mumbai.

Shri Jaishankerji,(Scientist) and active swayamsevak of All World Gayatri Pariwar, Thane was invited by & K.B. College of Arts, Commerce & Science for Girls, Kopri, Thane (E) to celebrate ‘The National Youth Day’. The presentation focused on ‘Importance of Virtues and contribution to Nation Building’.The session began with pious veneration of the Gayatri Mantra and its meaning to imbibe divine.

Shri Jaishanker Arya introduced the concept of Sanskaras, formation of individual, a responsible citizen. He shared with the students how great personalities like Swami Vivekananda,Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Veer Bhagat Singh, Rani Laxmibai,Tatya Tope were born and how their mere rememberance still inspires us. Family, teachers, society played a pivotal role in their making.He appealed all to read inspiring literature everyday.The life and teachings of such people could be of immense benefit and help to all.Putting thurst on Yugrishis literature Jaishankerji expressed that Gurujis literature contains the distilled essence of Indias spiritual treausres explained in the simplest language and in the light of modern rational thought and science.

He shared true sutras for successful life given by Pandit ShriRam Sharma Acharyaji. An introduction of DIYA Mumbai with five fold objectives was shared and was well appreciated by the teachers present and Management representatives. Different social initiatives and projects undertaken by Diya Mumbai volunteers was presented.

Eventually post presentation, some students came forward to be a part of DIYA Mumbai. Smt Renu Trivedi didi, principal strived hard to initiate this celebration at college.

Smt Renu expressed that the seminar was informative and effective for all participants.She said that Spirituality and Science needs one another. The pairing is like soul and body, like flesh and bones; no one can be satisfied by merely bones what science has to offer.Shiksha and Vidya needs to go hand to hand for overall development of students and to make them responsible citizens.

She and many faculties were highly effusive in their praise of the session and requested DIYA to conduct more such sessions in future. All departed with the thoughts having beaming smiles on their faces and contented hearts.
